The book provides answers on the early cults with emphasis on the identity of the deities worshipped at the sanctuaries of Poseidon and Athena at Sounion from the Late Geometric to the dawn of the Classical period. It is the first detailed and comprehensive examination and interpretation, of a wide selection of unpublished small finds of different categories and materials discovered in the bothroi and the landfills and sets them into context.
