Mono = Mοναδικό (meaning unique in Greek)
A Concept Store Made in Greece
For its fifth project, MONOspace is returning to Notting Hill (London) in June 2017 and is presenting a concept inspired by the vintage, black and white photographs that recall the flair and nostalgia of a past era.
The tiny alleys of Hydra, the old monastery of Patmos island, they rocky beaches of the island of Tinos, the medieval castle of Monemvasia, the Athenian rooftops overlooking the Acropolis have been MONO team’s inspiration for this new curation. MONOspace V will carry impeccable, always “made in Greece” pieces from upcoming as well as established Greek designers and brands that will unveil the ancient Greek goddess inside you.
Unique handmade garments, dresses and shirts embroidered with traditional patterns, sophisticated swimsuits, refined leather sandals, luxurious silk scarves, jewellery made out of marble and clay will be showcased among others for two weeks in a specially curated MONOspace. The Whitelight Editions are invited to co-curate the space with a great selection of printed photographs from contemporary Greek photographers.
MONOspace V will open from Wednesday the 7th to Wednesday the 21st of June 2017, at 79-81 Ledbury Road, W11 2AG, London.
MONOspace is a mobile fashion concept store – giving a UK platform for exclusive pieces by emerging contemporary Greek designers and brands – that is popping up in different London locations. Each space is curated to reflect the aesthetic character of the neighborhood it temporarily inhabits.
Founded by Marina Bury Christellou and Myrta Mitropoulou, both 32 and friends since high school, MONO represents their shared passion for creating an exciting and inspirational platform to help take the “made in Greece” creativity a step further into the global fashion and design arena.
