‘Egomion’ by Kostis Georgiou

Martix presents the solo exhibition ‘EGOMION’ by the internationally acclaimed painter and sculptor Kostis Georgiou.

The exhibition will be hosted at the C. John Gallery, in London’s Mayfair, from 26 October to 9 November 2017 (official opening on Thursday, 26 October 6:00-9:00pm).

Curated by Maria Migadi, the exhibition is part of the big solo exhibitions’ tour of monumental paintings and sculptures by Kostis Georgiou.

The London exhibition features 7 sculptures and 15 paintings attesting to the magical, metaphysical and polymorphic world of the artist.

Kostis Georgiou was born in Thessaloniki in 1956. He studied under Dimitris Mytaras and Dimosthenis Kokkinides at the Fine Art School of Athens, as well as Peter de Francia at London’s Royal College of Fine Arts.

He has presented his art in more than 90 solo exhibitions in some of the most prominent galleries and museums around the world and has also taken part in over 300 group exhibitions.

He lives and works in Athens.
